462 Visa Health Insurance Requirements

The Australian Department of Home Affairs strongly recommends health insurance for Work and Holiday visa holders because visitors may be responsible for their medical costs in Australia. Condition 8501 can be imposed on subclass 462 visas, but it is not a universal condition for every holder.

Read your visa grant notice or use VEVO. If condition 8501 is listed, you must maintain adequate arrangements for health insurance while in Australia. Ask the insurer to confirm whether the exact policy meets the requirement.
